Questions

Straight answers.

If a question you have isn't here, ask it on the design visit — or call and ask before you book one. We would rather answer it twice than have you guess.

Frequently asked questions

What is permanent outdoor lighting?

A professionally installed LED lighting system that lives under your roofline year-round. A slim, colour-matched channel holds individually controlled LED lights, run from a weather-rated controller you operate from your phone — warm white on an ordinary Tuesday, full colour for the holidays.

Will I see it during the day?

The channel is low-profile and colour-matched to your fascia, so from the street it reads as part of the roofline. We'll show you exactly what it looks like on homes like yours during your free design visit.

How much does it cost?

Every home is different — corners, peaks, and lengths change the design, so we price each project individually and give you one fixed written quote. The design visit and quote are free, with no obligation.

How long does installation take?

Most residential installations are completed in about a day, depending on the size and design of your home. We confirm your timeline with your quote.

Does it work in Alberta winters?

It's built for year-round outdoor use, and winter is exactly when you'll use it most. We design and install with snow, ice, and our freeze-thaw swings in mind.

Can I just have normal white light?

Absolutely — many homeowners run a single warm white most of the year. Colour is there when you want it, invisible when you don't.

Who does the installation?

Trained professional crews install every system, and Antler Home Lighting remains your single point of contact from design visit to warranty service.

What about my warranty?

Every installation comes with a written warranty covering the product and our workmanship. Full written terms come with your quote, so you can read them before you decide.

Do you offer payment options?

Ask your design consultant about payment options during your visit — we'll walk you through what's available for your project. There's nothing to pay online, and nothing to pay before you've accepted a written quote.

Do I have to be home for the quote?

For the design visit, yes — we measure, look at your home's lines and power, and walk through options with you. It typically takes under an hour.

What happens after I request a quote?

Our team calls you — usually within one business day — to book your free design visit at a time that suits you.

Can I control the back yard separately from the front?

Zoning is part of how these systems are designed — we'll map out which runs you want to control together and which you'd rather keep separate during your design visit, and set it up that way.

Do you install outside the areas you list?

We're based in Calgary and install up the QE2 corridor through central Alberta, and we're expanding. If you're outside the areas listed on our service areas page, tell us where you are — we'd still like to hear from you.

One question is deliberately missing: whether there is a monthly or cloud fee for the app. We don't have that confirmed in writing yet, and we would rather leave a gap than guess. Ask us and we'll tell you exactly what we know at the time.
